MIRCS Massachusetts Instant Record Check System, the computer application for which this user guide is written provides an interface for Administrators to manage system values. There are two types of system values: end-user values and system-only values. End-user values are pre-defined entries that the user can see and select, like the values in a drop-down list. System-only values are not seen by the user and are by the MIRCS application to regulate and/or record user behavior. "Login Attempts" is an example of a system-only value that regulates how many unsuccessful login attempts are permitted before a user account is disabled.
Each system value (e.g. Sex) will have one or more entries (e.g. Male, Female), and each entry will have a corresponding code (e.g. M, F). Once you select a system value, you can perform the following tasks:
